The process of preparing the general state budget law for the year 2021 has been difficult, has required complex negotiations from the coalition government and has raised strong controversies, in many cases uncertain and demagogic, in the first moments due to the content of the anticipated tax revenues and then by the agreements reached with nationalist parties. Therefore, from a progressive perspective, we must be very careful when analyzing them and even more so when formulating criticism. Taking this precaution into account, it would also be unfair not to point out doubts and objections. The first thing to highlight is that, as a global assessment, we are faced with budgets that have nothing to do with those that the right-wing PP governments (at state, regional and local levels) approved in the years of the previous economic crisis.
