name:Snakestone
gender: Tom
age: 70 moons
rank:Elder
clan:ThunderClan
quick description:A lanky gray tom with yellow eyes
Description:Snakestone in his youth had sleek gray fur that shined and yellow eyes that reflected his ambition to do well in his clan. As of late the toms fur is rarely groomed and has a very wirey feel to it. It's a dull gray color that no longer shines probably due to his age. His eyes are a rounded dull yellow that only seems to sparkle when young apprentices and kits come to the elders den seeking story of his youth. In his prime the tom was very muscular and a strong fighter. He was always one to defend his clan. His muscles since then have faded giving him a very weak look. It hurts for him to stand mostly in leaf bare and leaf fall. In new leaf and green leaf he often chats with the youngsters of the clan.
Personality:
Snakestone is a very confident tom. He often over looks his own abilities to do things. Although he is an elder he still believes he is a warrior at heart. The tom likes to do warrior duties and no matter how many times his leader and deputy tell him its not the best idea. He simply shoves them away and claims he will always be a warrior. He hasn't quite gotten the idea that he's an elder yet.
Part of being an elder is getting those pesky apprentices and kits who nag on you about your past and all the cool things you did when you were young. Well Snakestone doesn't mind. The once proud and ambitious warrior who was snappy at everyone enjoys the company of kits during the moons where he can't function all that well. He doesn't mind when the kits pounce on his moving tail or when the apprentices ask curious questions. No matter what time of day this tom will always be willing to share stories about ThunderClans past.
This tom can be a bit goofy as he tends to talk to things that aren't real or can talk back. Warriors don't like talking to elders once they have heard all the stories there are to here. Snakestone will actually talk to the clouds or stones from time to time. Hense the reason for the name change from Snakevenom to Snakestone.
History:
Kithood:Snakestone grew up as an only kit. That's probably a good thing because in his prime he was very hard to control. His parents Stonebrook his father, and Soulmist, his mother, were always chasing after him or having patrols to search for him. His favorite thing to do was sneak out. That or hide in the warriors den. He also loved play fighting with the other apprentices to get a feel for what training would be like when he turned 6 moons old. One point when he snuck out late one night their was a badger lumbering around ThunderClans territory. After seeing the kit the badger attacked. The badger threw the poor kit across the territory hitting a tree. His body went limp. At dawn the patrol found him. Darkpaw, ThunderClan's medicine cat apprentice found him. He brought the kit back to the clan where Spottedpebble treated him for serious wounds. Snakekit didn't become an apprentice until 6 and half moons old where his mentor was ThunderClans noble leader Breakstar. Breakstar wanted to tame this trouble maker kit and he did just that.
Apprenticehood:
After his 6th moon had passed Snakekit finally became Snakepaw along with his clan mate Servilkit. Snakepaw can't seem to remember who servalpaws mentors name was but he knew she was a pure white she-cat with blue eyes. He believes her name was Whiteforest but he was unsure. Snakepaw had a rather large crush on Servalpaw and was often goofing off to do things to impress her. Breakstar was not impressed with how he was acting and got angry. He quickly separated the two. He made Snakepaw do battle training almost everyday. Snakepaw would often come back with deep gashes. Servalpaw thought he was over training to impress her and it wasn't working. Their bond quickly became severed and Breakstar enjoyed every moment of it. Breakstar spend two days teaching Snakepaw how to hunt and he was honestly terrible at it.
One day a pack of dogs raided ThunderClans camp. Servilpaw got into a mess with one of them. Snakepaw not liking the idea went to defend her. Breakstar watched him fight with a sparkle in his eye. He had trained a fighting machine. That was the one thing he had wanted. He wanted to train a cat that would be feared by many. Between the many warriors in the Clan Breakstar and Snakepaw did most of the fighting.
Snakepaw layed down his breathing shallowed. Breakstar looked over his body and nudged it with a paw. "Get up Snakepaw your fine..." His mentor pushed. The tom knew he was treating him badly. He just wanted a warrior who was powerful and leader material.
Servalpaw ran over to the toms mangled body and heaved a tear."Haven't you pushed him enough?" She snapped. The brown and black spotted she-cat stood over him protectively. She eyed Addertail who was ThunderClan's loyal deputy at the time. She did nothing....
A night later when Snakepaw was able to stand on his own Breakstar called a meeting. It was at that time that he decided it was time to make Servalpaw and Snakepaw both warriors. Snakepaw became Snakevenom for his deadly ability in battle. and Servalpaw became Servalheart for her strong protective will.
Warrior hood:
Snakevenom enjoyed his name. At the next gathering when Breakstar announced he had two warriors he named Snakevenom last. Snakevenom felt all the eyes fall on him and he loved it. He found himself digging his claws into the ground. His tail lashed back and forth so cats knew he was powerful. He always had a cocky grin on his face every where he went. However cats gasped when they heard the name. What kind of leader would name a cat that?
The gathering ended peacefully. Servalheart lashed her tail back and forth as they walked home. She seemed angry with Snakevenom and he didn't know why. She waited for all the cats to go to sleep before she looked Snakevenom in the eyes."I'm expecting your kits...but I don't know if I want too anymore. You have become a monster. What happend to you over the past moon?" Servalheart walked off leaving him there and heading to her nest.
Snakevenom didn't know what to say. He just looked degrated as if he had just lost his best friend. He twitched his whiskers and followed closely behind her. He slept alone that night. He normally did. He never ever told that she-cat how much she meant to him and she was slowly going away.
Two moons later a queens kits were ready to become apprentices. There names were Fogkit and Icekit. They were quite the pair. Snakevenom was picked to mentor Fogpaw. He touched noses with the tom. Breakstar really wanted him to mentor him like he had himself. Breakstar wanted a clan filled with fighting machines. That's what Fogpaw became as well...he became just that.
After a couple of trainings Snakevenom came back one night and heard a loud screech. Servalheart was in the nursery. Darkpaw had become Darkrose at this point in time since Spottedpebble was killed in the dog fight. Darkrose helped her have kits. Three were born stillborn. The smallest of the three would be fighting for its life. This small gray and black spotted she-kit was given the name Hopekit. The other three went to Starclan with the names Foalkit, Darkkit, and Mousekit.
Snakevenom became enraged when three of his own kit didn't survive. Hopekit looked useless. He took his anger out on Fogpaw training him rigourless. Breakstar was impresesd with Fogpaws skills.
Three moons later ShadowClan attacked! Snakevenom was at the head of the fight protecting everyone he could. By his side was his own apprentice and leader. His leader lost his final life that night. Lichenthorn went straight for Servalheart who did everything she could to protect her now healthy kit. With a mighty claw the tom slashed at her throat.
Snakevenom let out a yowl and ran to his mates side. The she-cat spat and looked him in the eye. Snakevenom closed her lids and whispered that he loved her and he would make Hopekit something he wasn't....a warrior. The she-cat let out one last purr before going to StarClan.
Enraged Snakevenom lost his temper attacking cats left and right. Breakstar, and Servalheart lost their lives that night in the battle. But ShadowClan lost twice the amount. HE truly was a monster wasn't he?
Fogpaw soon became Fogflight and Icepaw soon became Icepetal. The night of their warrior Ceremony Hopekit became Hopepaw thanks to Crimsonstar who was ThunderClans new noble leader. The 45 moon old tom looked at his kit with proud eyes. She would make an excellent warrior.
They soon discovered that Hopepaw was not alright. She had no use in on of her hind legs which made it difficult for her to balance. Instead she helped Darkrose and Frostpaw around in the medicine cats den since she wasn't useful anywhere else. Leafbare was just around the corner. The weak she-cat passed to Starclan from Greencough. Was given the name Hopewing. She was a popular she-cat and she would forever be missed. Now Snakevenom knew what it was like to be alone.
It was peaceful for the next few moons of his life. He decided that training another apprentice was something he just didn't want to do. The tom didn't have much use to the clan. He was offered a deputy position but declined. He didn't want to be another Breakstar. Not after all he had gone through.
The tom was around 68 moons. A senior warrior at the time when he recalled a confrontation from a fiesty warrior known as Skyhawk and Crimsonstar. He knew Skyhawk had been helpful in many battles and had fallen off a cliff when training Swiftpaw.
Raising a brow the tom looked on. Before he knew it they were clawing at each others fur. Crimsonstar was easily defeated. Of course. Crimsonstar was mentored by one of Breakstars goons. Every fighter had a weakness. That was the fear of losing.
Crimsonstar left in an awful hurry. Skyhawk took position as leader without even waiting for a sign. Apparently a hawk soaring over the clan and letting out a call was sign enough for him. He picked Tigerflight as his loyal deputy. Like that orange and black tom new anything.
Snakevenom just spat. What had ThunderClan become? He started talking to stones and clouds holding a conversation as if they were Servalheart of Hopewing. The leader quickly noticed what was going and asked him perhaps it was time for him to retire as a warrior. Snakevenom didn't want to give up his position, but there were no elders in the elder den at the time so he quickly agreed.
The leader held the ceremony. However his name was changed. The leader claimed that no cat diserved a name so feared as his. He changed his name to Snakestone. Snake for his strong will in battle and stone for his gray pelt. Snakestone thanked the leader ruefully and made his way back to his new den.
Elderhood:
Snakestone hasn't been an elder for very long. He did notice that Tigerflight hadn't returned from his patrol. ANother lost cause that Thunderclan had. Snakestone soon started having conversations with twigs pretending they were Tigerflight. It seemed like when cats died thats what he would do instead of saying goodbye. He soon became frail over 4 moons time with dementia.
Snowberry had kits 5 of them. He doted on them like any elder would. The once proud warrior looked up at the leader and then looked at Frosthearts demenor, They were Frosthears kits. Snakestone raised a brow and gave each a swift lick before returning to his den. He would keep a secret. He now just awaits the day for when they will be old enough to travel to his den where he could tell the mighty stories of Snakevenom, a deadly warrior of ThunderClan that was no more.....
