name:Emberpool
gender: Tom
age: 45 moons
rank:Warrior
clan:ThunderClan
quick description:Ginger tabby tom with amber eyes
Description:
Emberpool is a handsome tomcat, there's no denying that. The problem is getting him to believe it. His thick ginger coat is stricken through with thick, dark ginger stripes. Though long-furred, it doesn't take as much maintenance as anyone would think. His chest, belly, front paws, and tail tip are white. There's a small crest of fur on his chest that's longer than the rest of his fur, and Emberpool hates it. Why? He's been told that he looks like a hero when the wind blows and tussles it just right. And he thinks that he's anything but a hero.

Personality:
Emberpool is one of those cats that you can easily forget is there. Everything about him is quiet. His voice, his pawsteps, his breathing, and even his mere presence. He hardly ever speaks during Clan meetings, preferring much more to watch and observe his Clanmates than actually participate. He's always gone by the philosophy 'you can learn as much by watching as you can by listening'. It's never failed him before.
He doesn't think very highly of himself, no matter what other cats might tell him. He's never thought of himself as very brave or smart. Mostly he just does what others tell him to. He'll fight if he needs to and runs if he needs to. Listening to Emberpool talk about himself is almost painfully depressing because he puts himself down so much. It's almost enough to make someone want to smack him on the nose and screech at him.
The sad thing about his insecurity is that he really doesn't deserve it. He never thinks once of himself above others. If there's only one piece of fresh-kill left and he's starving, he'll let someone else have it and go hunting. If there's only one dry space in the middle of a rainstorm, he'll let another have it. And so on and so forth, you get my point.

History:
Ashfrost was one of the most attractive and respected warriors of the Clan. He was the envy of every tom and the idol of every she-cat. He had the pick of any mate he wanted. He chose the kind-hearted and caring she-cat Cedarflight as his mate. They courted for about two moons before becoming mates. A half-moon later and Cedarflight went into the nursery.

Emberkit started out as a normal kit. He and his sisters, Nettlekit and Pinekit, got under everyone's paws and caused as much problems as they could. He was the youngest of them all, with Nettlekit being the oldest and Pinekit being the middle. Nettlekit took her position as eldest kit way to seriously. She bossed around her siblings as much as she could, controlling what games they would play and what position they would act. When they played Clan Wars, she would always be Nettlestar, leader of ThunderClan. Emberkit was usually Emberstar, leader of ShadowClan. That would normally be an honor, being chosen to be Clan leader, even if it was ShadowClan. But it usually meant that 'Nettlestar' and 'Pinewhisker' would gang up on him.
Cedarflight and Ashfrost were usually good about making sure their daughters didn't accidentally hurt him. Emberkit idolized his father in ways that almost made it seem like hero-worship. Ashfrost usually spent his visits to the nursery playing keep-away with his tail, but he never got really mad at him.
One day, when Ashfrost and Cedarflight were out in the forest together, Emberkit exclaimed that he wanted to be just like Ashfrost when he grew up. Nettlekit and Pinekit made fun of him, saying that he'd never be that respected or awesome. He wasn't any good at anything. Even Pinekit, who was the smallest of the three of them, could beat him in play-fights.
Instead of swearing up and down that he'd show them and become the best warrior ever, their teasing caused him to recede into himself. He wasn't nearly as innovative as before. Instead of joining in with their playfights, he'd just sit back and watch. Even when Ashfrost came to visit, Emberkit stayed back. Their parents were beyond worried about him.
Nettlekit and Pinekit both felt guilty. They discussed a few times apologizing to him, but Nettlekit's pride wouldn't let her. She bullied Pinekit into not telling, saying that they'd both be punished for hurting Emberkit in the way they had. Pinekit was scared enough that she agreed, and the two sisters further ostracized their brother.
He didn't get better, but neither did he get worse. Emberkit pretty much stayed quiet most of the time, observing and learning what he could. He never spoke to his sisters, and his voice was small and nervous whenever he did talk. He stayed that way, even on the day they became apprentices.
Apprentice
Emberpaw's mentor was a middle-aged tomcat named Ferretwhisker. Nettlepaw got a she-cat named Ivypatch, and Pinepaw was mentored by Rockfire, a fairly young warrior. Ferretwhisker was the most senior of the mentors, so any group training was usually handled by him.
Emberpaw got farther into his training in the first moon of training than either of his sisters. He had an instinct for hunting that was seen in few apprentices. His success in hunting was only eclipsed by his failure at fighting. Emberpaw was quickly growing, and stood at Ferretwhisker's shoulders when he was only 8 moons old, so you'd figure that he'd be the best of the three at fighting, right?
Nope! Emberpaw was too afraid of accidentally hurting his sisters to actually try. So for moons, it was thought that Nettlepaw was the best fighter of them. Like she really needed the ego boost! She'd grown from a bossy sister to a bossy and arrogant jerk. It was like Pinepaw didn't have a voice anymore. Her opinions and thoughts and wants and needs didn't matter when compared to Nettlepaw, and Nettlepaw was always the one that got her way.
There were times when Pinepaw would try and speak to Emberpaw, but it was filled with awkward silence. Nettlepaw didn't even try to bridge the gap between her and her brother. They never spoke except when necessary, and slept on opposite sides of the apprentice den. Their awkward relationship carried even into the warriors den.
Their warrior ceremonies came after an assessment. There wasn't a big battle for them to prove themselves in or tragedies to overcome. Emberpool, Nettlenose, and Pinewhisker were made warriors nearing the end of leaf-bare, so they had good timing. Ashfrost and Cedarflight were the proudest of parents, and showered all three of their kits with love and pride.
Emberpool was embarrassed and modest while Nettlenose soaked it all up. Pinewhisker just kind of stood there. Life went on for them until they were 25 moons old. A warrior by the name of Rattail died, leaving behind his mate and kits in the nursery without a father. Emberpool felt so sorry for them that he offered to take on the male role in their life, though no one could ever replace their father.
Nettlenose mocked him by saying that if Darkpelt, Rattail's mate, valued the future of their kits, she wouldn't let Emberpool anywhere near them. Emberpool finally snapped and demanded why Nettlenose seemed to hate him so much. Nettlenose didn't really have an answer, so she just shrugged and said it was because she felt like it.
Emberpool wanted nothing more than to slash at her face, but knew better than that. Instead, he just broke off communication. From now on, he had no sisters. So he took on the fatherly role to young Shiningkit and Venomkit and, by extension from them, Blizzardkit.
Emberpool wanted to mentor at least one of the kits, but didn't. Blizzardkit was mentored by his father, a gray tom named Brackenfang. Shiningpaw was mentored by a wise senior warrior named Foxfur, while Venompaw was mentored by Ravenfeather, a laid-back black and white tom. Emberpool didn't stop taking interest in the younger cat's lives, becoming a role model for all three of them.
When they became warriors, Emberpool was as proud of them as his parents were of him. He watched them grow up, physically and mentally. Shiningkit, nosy and and unsure of her place, had turned into Shiningheart, loving and playful. Blizzardkit turned from serious and straight-forward to laid-back and funny. Venomkit turned from annoying and sneaky to strict and serious. He's loved them all as his own, and is looking forward to his own kits.
