name:Earthkit.Eathpaw Earthshaker
gender: Tom
age: 29 Moons
rank: Warrior
clan: ShadowClan
quick description:Large russet coloured tom with forest green eyes
Description: Earthshaker is easily one of the biggest toms in all of ShadowClan. He is a naturally tall cat with broad muscles and a strong build that is rare in any ShadowClan cat. His unknown heritage is what really sets him out from his clan mates. His coat base colour is an earth, rowan brown colour. The fur on his forehead, shoulders and bottom of his tail is a very dark brown, near black. Earthshaker's pelt has a spot of cream on his chest and a bright white blaze on his nose. The coat itself is medium in length, protecting him from harsh winters and usually feather out, giving him a rather fluffy look (at the same time making him look even bigger than he is). His paws are equally big in comparison to his size and his eyes are a bright forest green colour.
Earthshaker's build is based along brute strength to match that of a ThunderClan cat. But this does not make Earthshaker any less stealthy. As his name suggests, every time he steps some cats say you can feel the earth shaking with power and fear of this cat. Earthshaker's brute strength is muffled by his large paws and ShadowClan stealth training. This still makes Earthshaker more a fighter than a hunter. Earthshaker's disadvantage is his bulky size. He has a hard time slipping through narrow places and he runs rather slowly.
Personality:Earthshaker is a very stable kind of cat, never bending or bowing to outside influences. Nothing can really shake this tom's calm and cool personality. Like the earth itself, Earthshaker is a solid pillar of support for his clan. He is seen as the cat that can always be relied on because he will never panic. His calm attitude towards pretty much everything allows him to keep the clan under control and following his orders very smoothly. While he can be very sturdy, this also means Earthshaker is very unshakable when it comes to his opinions and belief. It would take an astronomical event to truly change this tom's mind about something or someone.
Earthshaker is a very realistic cat, always playing the "what if" game in the back of his mind. As long as he thinks of the worst thing that can happen, he will be ready for it. This makes Earthshaker a very ridged tom with little to no imagination and a no nonsense sort. Despite Earthshaker's down to earth ways, he does a little bit too much thing for his own good. His thoughts always linger with his past and he finds himself regretting a lot of things and wondering what he could have done better. Making him very harsh on himself. Earthshaker will only scold a cat for making a mistake, but if he himself were to make a mistake he would reprimand himself horribly.
With this spiral of thought, Earthshaker has a lot to bare on his shoulders. Despite this, he always put a serene mask on his face as not to worry his clan mates. At times he feels like he will break under the pressure but he always locks those feeling in the back of his mind to concentrate on the here and the now. Rest assured, there will be one day that Earthshaker just might break under the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Earthshaker's has two dark fears. The first is of someone finding out his past, the only cat he trusts with that secret is his uncle Hazestone. He fears that he will be banished from the clan if anyone found out of his blood status so he jealously guards this secret. Because of what happened to both of his siblings and foster father, Earthshaker has an irrational fear of monsters. Every time he so much as hears a monster he starts shaking in fear. This fear can paralyzes the tom and even (embarrassingly enough) cause him to faint.
History: Earthkit's first few moments of life became his life long shame and dark secret. Earthkit was birthed on the very outskirts of ShadowClan territory, as far from the Lake as you could get without leaving ShadowClan territory. Usually a kit could not remember their first few days very well, but the traumatic even was burned into Earthkit's mind like an iron brand. Once his mother gave birth to the single kit she stood up and left the kit to fend for itself. Frightened, Earthkit cried for his mother. His cries attracted the attention of a ShadowClan warrior who had been passing by on border patrol. The tom, Hazestone, thought that the kit's cries were that of a fox before he stumbled onto the new born tom. He was momentarily stunned before he jumped into action. Hazestone licked at the kit's fur furiously until it was clean and fluffy. When Hazestone picked up the kit by his scruff he only struggled momentarily before he settled down with quiet mewls of discomfort. Hazestone took the newborn back to ShadowClan camp and brought him to his sister Coldwind. Coldwind had given birth mere moments before to three kits but one of them had been still born. Hazestone knew how sensitive Coldwind could be about losing a kit, so before she woke up from her exhausted sleep, he replaced the stillborn kit with the kit he found at the edge of ShadowClan territory. Thankfully, the kit's brown coat was similar enough to Coldwind's that they could pass off as kin.
When Coldwind woke after giving birth to her kits she named the darker brown tom kit Forestkit, the black she kit Grasskit and the light brown kit Earthkit. Coldwind was delighted that all three of her kits survived, unaware of the guilt that was eating away at the heart of one of her kits. She soon called her mate Duststorm and Hazestone to meet the kits. Hazestone graced his sister with a smile, avoiding the form of Earthkit all together, and complimented each kit. Duststorm, on the other hand, barely looked at his mate as he observed the kits with cold calculating eyes. Coldwind had always been in love with Duststorm from a young age, but the tom had no feelings for her what so ever. He finally accepted her as his mate just to have kits in the clan with his bloodline. After watching the kits for a while, Duststorm took his leave, leaving the heart broken Coldwind behind.
Despite Duststorm's lack of love for his kits, Coldwind tried to make up for it with her own love with some help from Hazestone as well. The only time Duststorm stopped by to see his kits were when his clanmates insisted. "No kit should grow up not knowing their father!" Was a phrase often thrown at him from various ShadowClan cats. Duststorm interests in the kits grew when they were four moons of age. He would take the kits out of the nursery to "get to know them better" but he would really just take them away from the eyes of his clan to start training the kits early. His hope was to have his kits become great warriors and claim that he was the one who taught them everything they knew.
Duststorm's ambitious training had a different effect on each kit. For Forestkit, Duststorm became a great role model, a cat that he could look up to and want to be exactly like. It was the complete opposite for Grasskit. Duststorm pushed the she cat too hard and he became everything Grasskit hated in a cat: bossy, cold and ambitious. In extension Grasskit started to dislike Forestkit as well, from that time on the brother and sister never got along again. Around the time they were to become apprentices, Grasskit begged the leader to allow her to become a medicine cat apprentice. Earthkit was torn between his brother and sister but his brother eventually won out. Despite Earthkit knowing he was not clan born, he supported his brother's ambitions and would always be his brother silent shoulder of support.
The three kits were named apprentices at the age of six moons. Forestpaw had Crimsondust as a mentor, Grasspaw became the medicine cat apprentice and Earthpaw got a she cat named Iceshard as a mentor. Duststorm continued to train Forestpaw from the shadows and Forestpaw in turn followed his father around more often then he trained with Crimsondust. With two cat training him, Forestpaw became exhausted. It was times likes these that Forestpaw went to his brother for comfort. Earthpaw would always be the steady pillar that held his brother up in times of need. But when the two brothers were together there was always a feeling of something important that Earthpaw was keeping from Forestpaw. To this day Earthpaw's true heritage plagued the young tom's mind and it terrified him to think what would happen if his brother found out. When the knowledge of his heritage threatened to overwhelm him, Earthpaw would confide in Grasspaw. He never told her about his heritage but the two could talk much more freely than Earthpaw and Forestpaw could.
On a particularly gloomy day for Earthpaw, Grasspaw offered to let Earthpaw come for a walk to help her find some herbs. Earthpaw agreed readily before sneaking away from camp with his sister. The two spent the day playing all over the territory like kits. Neither realized how close they had come to the ThunderClan border or how dangerously close they were to crossing the scent lines. Earthpaw made to lunge at his sister, who let out a high pitch squeal before darting back to avoid Earthpaw paw's and in doing so, ran right onto Thunder Path. Before Earthpaw could chase after her a monster came out of no where and hit his sister. Grasspaw was flung into the air a few fox lengths away from Earthpaw. By the time Earthpaw raced over to his sister she was already dead.
Earthpaw stumbled back to ShadowClan camp and told the clan what had happened. Iceshard gave the apprentice her sympathies while Duststorm just gave Earthpaw a piercing look "You should have had protected her. If you did she wouldn't be dead."
Rattled by his foster father's words, Earthpaw went to his brother for comfort. Forestpaw had very little sympathy for his sister's death. While Earthpaw supported his brother in his ambitions to become a great warrior, Grasspaw despised him for it. Forestpaw and Grasspaw would constantly fight since they were kits because of their differences and they never made up before Grasspaw's death. With no where to turn to for comfort for his foster sister's death, Earthpaw locked the negative emotions in the back of his mind and let the dark emotions accumulate in the back of his mind. The emotions slowly started to poison the young tom's mind leading to out lashes of anger at the cats around him.
Then came Earthpaw's first battle and it was against ThunderClan. All the negative feelings that built up since Grasspaw's death were released in that one battle. Earthpaw fought like a true warrior but nearly killed a younger ThunderClan apprentice. The triumphant ShadowClan warriors trotted back to camp with their heads held high and words of praise for Earthpaw's performance falling from their maws. It wasn't long before Earthpaw gained his warrior name early for his performance. He thus gained the name Earthshaker. Earthshaker had the exact opposite feelings for his performance, mostly centered around self hatred. What if he had accidentally killed that young apprentice? Did he maybe have a brother or sister waiting back at camp for them to come back? Worrying they might not come back from the battle alive? It was a very seldom warrior ceremony for Earthshaker.
But that wasn't the only problem that Earthshaker had to deal with at the time. As word of his stunning performance in battle spread in the clan, it reached Forestpaw last. Forestpaw was devastated. He was supposed to be the good son, the strong son, the one who was supposed to have his warrior name early and be praised by his clan, not Earthshaker. In a fit of jealous rage, Forestpaw tried to cross Thunder Path to sneak into ThunderClan but was instead struck by a monster. Earthshaker was the one to find his brother's body the next day.
Earthshaker had to endure the glares that Duststorm sent him as the strong cold hearted warrior buried his favorite son. It was the night after they had found Forestpaw's body and Earthshaker and Duststorm were the only two cats left sitting vigil over his body when Earthshaker's life took another twist. In the dead of night Duststorm attacked the newly named warrior and held his claws at Earthshaker's throat. "I know." The mad tom his, tightening his hold on Earthshaker's throat, a mad glint in his eyes. "I know your secret! I know you aren't clan born! I know you are not my kit! I know Hazestone, that soft hearted fool, found you and brought you into ShadowClan. And tomorrow I will tell everyone how you attacked me, saying how you want no one to know so you killed off all your siblings to keep your secret! If Forestpaw can't be the hero this clan deserves, then I will be!" The fight between Earthshaker and Duststorm was a fierce one that woke up the entire clan. As the clan leader made to step in between them, Earthshaker panicked. He knew Duststorm would tell everyone. Earthshaker struggled out of Duststorm's grip and ran out of camp, luring the older warrior with him. This game of chase didn't last long. The two ended up on Thunder Path to resume their fight. Out of the blue came a massive monster that swerved to avoid Earthshaker but accidentally hit Duststorm.
He feed the clan a story of how Duststorm had blamed Earthshaker for his son's death and tried to kill him, he was clearly insane. The clan bought the lie and moved on. Hazestone and Coldwind weren't so sure.
Earthshaker confessed the real story to Hazestone who just gave the young warrior a pitying look. Earthshaker barely got a chance to talk to his foster mother. Coldwind had lost two of her kits and the love of her life, it wasn't two moons later that she died from heart break.
To compensate for all the recent trauma in his life, the leader gave Earthshaker an apprentice, Shellpaw. Shellpaw was a very skittish and frantic tom cat and Earthshaker tried his best to calm the apprentice some but his skittish nature lead him to his death. Three moons into his apprenticeship, Shellpaw drowned in the marshlands.
