A white Tom with tabby patches walked through a meadow in WindClan to find a nice place to see the stars as they come out. It was getting late, and he hoped to get back before it got too dark. His sister always seems to worry about him during this time. Pinespot smiled at the thought of Heatherpetal and couldn't help but chuckle. She was worried about him when she had kits to care for. Pinespot loved his family and would never think of anything bad happening to them. Pinespot soon found a good place to see the stars. It was a big rock in the middle of the meadow in a big open space. It was getting closer to dawn and Pinespot quickly took a sit on the big rock. He looked at the sky and watched as some clouds passed by. It was always nice to see clouds before night time came to push them away until the next day. Pinespot felt that luck was on his side to find this spot while it was still sun high. He might be here for the rest of the day and not see another cat, but if someone came by. It was always nice to have another cat to chat with other than being alone.

Could her life really get any worse at the moment? It was like everyone and everything was against her at the moment. Everyone in her life was currently gone, and it seemed as if the world was out to get her. Nothing was right and as it should be. She should be with her family, having fun and doing the normal warrior tasks, but no…sulking seemed to be the best form of medicine. Nothing could cure a broken heart, and it seemed she would just have to have time.
The last of her family had died the previous moon, an elder that had been her grandmother. She was all alone in the clan, and she was certainly feeling it. The she-cat just did not feel like herself, and she was tired of letting cats in her life. All they would do is get hurt, why subject someone to that? No, it was best if others stayed far far away. She just needed to be put in some sort of hollow hole and be allowed to just stay there. It wasn’t as if anyone would miss her, she had isolated herself for far too long. Without family what was a cat?
Starlingfeather had decided to take a walk, get her mind away from camp and away from the eyes of others. She needed this, and she felt like she should just disappear. The one thing she remembered doing with her family as a young cat was watching the stars as they came into the sky. Silverpelt was so beautiful and soothing, and it allowed Starlingfeather to see everyone she had lost. Yes, it was a sad reminded but it was oddly comforting. She remembered a rock that her family had once put her on as a small kit. It had become her safety net, and now the she-cat was headed toward it.
It seemed as if someone else had the same idea. She suddenly felt a little awkward jumping up on the rock and she quickly turned to leave. ”Sorry to disturb you, I didn’t know anyone was here. I’ll just go somewhere else.”
she murmured softly. Starlingfeather hopped off the rock and looked around, where else could she go?[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Pinespot looked down calmly at who just leaped on to the rock and saw that it was Starlingfeather. Green eyes looked at her sadly, and thoughts of his best friend pasted his mind "No; it's fine; I wouldn't mind a little company and maybe a little chat." Pinespot said as he smiled. Pinespot always had a soft spot for she-cats who were sweet and also hurting. He felt like just giving them a shoulder to cry on or at least an ear to talk to. Pinespot shook himself out of his thoughts and looked back at the other cat "So what brings you out here Starlingfeather?" Pinespot asked calmly. The Tom wondered how Heatherpetal, and her kits were doing right now. He was always happy to watch them for his sister during this time. However, the queen forced him out of the camp to have time to himself for once. Pinespot never minded spending time with the kits, they were his family. Sometimes he wonders's if Heatherpetal was trying to get rid of him or something. Pinespot looked back to his company and waited for the answer to his question.

Starlingfeather stopped in her tracks when she heard the tom on the rock calling out to her. Turning around she listened and thought about it for a minute. Did she really want to sit here and talk with someone? Could she really do that and someone not disappear on her? Probably not, but maybe it was time for her to start trying. Her family would be proud of her for this, surely. Nodding briefly, she swiftly jumped back onto the rock and padded up toward the tom.
”I just have this faint memory of when I was younger my family would bring me out here to look at the stars. I don’t know what made me come here at this moment, but something was telling me to bring my self here. Stars have always been my way of dealing with all the stress and death in my life and seeing them gives me hope.”
Starlingfeather mewed, taking a seat beside Pinespot. Her gaze shifted to the sky and she saw she still had some time before the sky was illuminated by the beautiful shiny orbs. Okay, she could do this, it was just a conversation. That was all, no need to get worked up and nervous. ”Why are you out here Pinespot? I would have thought you would be with your sister and the kits. I didn’t think anything existed but them to you.” she commented bluntly. Sure, she had watched the other cats of the clan interact and wished she could be like that. She especially enjoyed seeing the kits of the clan and even on awful days they brought a smile to her face. How could anyone be angry at such innocent little things? Kits were the heart of the clan. She wished she could have a family one day, with kits and a mate, but that was highly unlikely, with all the unfortunate deaths and everything in her life. She didn’t allow cats to come into her life, especially toms. She didn’t want to get hurt.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Pinespot looked sadly at his fellow ShadowClanner and sighed at the thought of her family. He'd hear'd about Starlingfeather's family; it was sad to know it made the she-cat kept to herself a lot. Pinespot had lost a friend and knew it was painful to lose someone close. However, he didn't know how it felt to lose one's family, it was her whole family too. Pinespot chuckled "I was thrown out by Heatherpetal and Sunspot; those two worry too much about me. Mom and sis think I've been working too hard and need a break from even the kits." He said with a smile. He loved talking about the kits, Sister and Mother who all loved him. Pinespot than thought about what has happened in the she cats life and had better respect for her still going on "I think your very strong for going on even after what has happened in your life...Most cats would fall apart after losing their whole family." Pinespot smiled at her in respect. He looked at the sky and saw that it was still sunny out. It would be time for the star's sooner or later "Kits are wonderful....I hope to have some of my own one day....But for now I'm watching over my best friend's kits until that day comes." Pinespot saw a star in the daytime sky sparkle brightly. It was as if Falconclaw was saying thank you to him, and he gave a silent welcome to the long-dead warrior. Pinespot looked at her again "I lost my best friend recently and my sister, her mate and her kits lost their father...They will know him through my stories I'll tell them. Hopefully, that way they will have a respect for him even if his dead." Pinespot says calmly as he looks at Starlingfeather with sad eyes full of pain at the lose of a good friend.

And this is exactly why Starlingfeather did not really enjoy this whole matter. She absolutely hated the look she was receiving from her clanmate, it was one of pity. She did not need pity or anyone to feel sorry for her. All she ever did was receive pity. She looked away, not wanting to see Pinespot have that look that she so longed to get away from.
When the mood turned lighter, she turned her attention back to the tom and actually managed a small smile. The tom had actually been thrown out of the nursery. Now that was quite funny. ”Well everyone deserves a break every now and then. And with everything you do for those kits, you especially need one”
she meowed seriously. And then he had to go and get sappy on her again. She felt herself become a little embarrassed and then stared at her paws. It wasn’t like she had any other choice. She had promised her family she was going to go on. But he didn’t know that she really had fallen apart. She had broken down for several moons after the first family member, but when the continued to disappear from her life, she drew further and further into depression until it was just her and her grandmother. Her grandmother had set her straight and Starlingfeather had finally somewhat accepted it all. ”I spent my time grieving, but I was told that it was better to put my efforts into helping the clan. My grandmother would have my tail if she thought I was doing something else.” she chuckled at the thought. Starlingfeather stared at Pinespot and nodded. ”I would love to have kits of my own one day, but I just don’t want them to have something happen to me, or I couldn’t take something happening to them. With my luck it would be something awful to happen to them. But I would absolutely love kits.” she admitted carefully. Who knew talking about things, actually helped. ”When the time comes, I’m sure you will make an excellent father. I see you with your sister’s kits, and I could see you with kits of your own. I think you would be perfect.” Starlingfeather added softly.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Pinespot chuckled at her words and knew she was right that everyone should be given a break once in a while. He listened to her thoughts about everything that has been going on in her life. He nodded to Starlingfeather at what she said about her grandma and thought that his mother was much the same way “My mother would have my tail too if I just moped around after something like, our brother’s death.” He said with a frown. Pinespot hadn’t wanted to bring that up and it hurt some times to think about his older brother. It had happen when he was an apprentice that his mother’s oldest kit from a single litter or that’s what he thought. Pinespot looked at the she-cat with sad eyes “Me and Heatherpetal had an older brother who dead during our apprenticeship.” He said frowning. It was the first time that anything has made Pinespot frown and it was also looked at the sky as it got darker. The stars looked ready to come out soon and he couldn’t wait to see the one star that was always the brightest. Pinespot didn’t give pity to those who lost someone; he tried to give understanding and someone to talk too. He knew that his brother was strong and very well trained. But all good warriors could be killed and would someday go to StarClan. He didn’t get to know his brother very well, but he still misses him.

Starlingfeather couldn’t believe it. She was having a conversation with someone and they weren’t dead or something. So far so good, she was doing so well. The she-cat was glad that there was someone in the clan that had similar problems to herself. This made her feel not so alone in the clan, like she had someone to talk to. It was a nice feeling for sure, one she didn’t think she would have after everything that had happened.
She listened to Pinespot speak of his older brother and blinked in sympathy. She knew exactly what it was like to lose a sibling. A sibling bond was something so strong and to have it destroyed by death was one of the worst possible things to ever happen. She had slightly remembered something about an older sibling that she had heard before with Heatherpetal and Pinespot, but she had been an apprentice herself at the time and was experiencing loss of her own. ”I’m sorry to hear that. I bet it made your bond with Heatherpetal even stronger.” she murmured thinking her thoughts outloud.
Starlingfeather gave the tom a lick of reassurance on the shoulder. ”Well I’m here if you ever want to talk. It helps to have someone who has similar experiences as your own, and I think the two of us have enough sorrow in our lives for the entire clan and possibly the rest of the other clans.”
she chuckled a little at this. ”Just don’t turn into me and keep everything inside. It doesn’t look healthy after a while and every just tends to ignore you. I rarely speak to cats anymore, and no one ever really speaks to me. And I wanted to thank you for actually wanting to talk with me.” Starlingfeather said honestly. This could be the start of a wonderful friendship, or whatever. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Pinespot looked at Starlingfeather with a smile "Don't worry, I've mourned my brother and we are moving on.....I actually hope to honor his name one day." He said with a smile. He never knew what to say to another cat about his brother. That was why he always spoke with Heatherpetal or Sunspot about this and was always nervous around other cats about this kind of thing. Pinespot knew that there were others in the clan who have lost family and didn't want to talk about it. But he felt that it was better to talk about it, than keeping it all bottled up "It was my pleasure, you can always talk to me if you need to.....and I'll try not to." Pinespot chuckled at this. It felt great to talk with someone other than his sister or mother and Pinespot felt that it was worth being kicked out of the nursery today. Pinespot looked at the sky as more stars were coming out. His different colored eyes looked at the brightest one with wide eyes. It looked like a few of the brightest stars were making a shape and it looked just like a cat. Pinespot almost fell over when it had the same build as his brother, Breezefang. He couldn't believe it and yet there it was clear in the sky sparkling like it was the most normal thing in the world "Look!" Pinespot whispered for only Raincloud to hear. It was beyond anything Pinespot has ever seen before and it was almost like seeing Breezefang again.

Starlingfeather stared at the tom for a moment or two. She was glad to know that there was peace in Pinespot’s heart with his brother. She nodded and knew that he really would honor the name one day, she was sure Pinespot would do that, he just seemed like the type of cat who would give his word and keep it. Looking up to the sky she sighed. Could she really talk to him about anything? Her life was so messed up she seriously doubted she could let emotions escape. ”Maybe some day I will, I just don’t want to bring up those painful memories.”
she murmured. And before she could say any more, the tom was telling her to look at something. What had he seen in the sky? Were the beautiful orbs of light finally appearing? Trying to see where Pinespot’s gaze was, Starlingfeather blinked in confusion. And then she saw it. The form looked like an outline of a cat, and it just looked so beautiful and wonderful. Could Pinespot be thinking of his brother? Is that what he saw? Turning back to Pinespot the she-cat managed a small smile. ”Either this is a sign that your brother is always watching you, or he approves that you have finally told another cat about your feelings toward everything. I think he is agreeing with me, letting you know that it is okay to talk about him.” Starlingfeather was enjoying the look in Pinespot’s eyes. It was one she had seen rarely in other cats. It was full of hope, and a slight sense of longing. She knew that exact look. It was one she had a lot recently. She touched her tail to his back, to try and comfort the tom in a way.
