The day was beginning to show over the horizon as the moon high patrol padded back into the Shadowclan camp. Maskpaw was exhausted and hated being out on moon high patrols. They took away all of his sleeping time so that he couldn’t do any training during the day. He liked to train and he wanted to know more. He NEEDED to know more. But right now he was exhausted and so needed sleep. It took away precious time, but he needed it to go on about the day. He would wake up in a couple of hours and would help out with the camp one way or another. He sighed and padded over to the apprentice’s den. The sun wasn’t all the way up and it wouldn’t be for another hour or so. He knew this and so hoped that he could sleep in well after the sun really shown bright.
He padded over to his nest in the corner of the den. His eyes were already heavy knowing that he was close to his bedding. He almost fell asleep standing up but didn’t when he realized that he was standing. He spun once and made sure that his bedding was nice and soft and then collapsed. Once his head was on his paws he instantly fell into a deep sleep. Unknown to him, it would be more important that a ‘deep sleep’ and not to mention he may not get as much sleep as he needed.
He knew he wasn’t in the den the moment his consciousness set in. He hadn’t opened his eyes yet or moved but he was almost afraid to. The ground underneath him was soft green grass and he was under a shade of… something, probably low branches that cast the crisscross shadows down onto him. The fragrance of fresh new-leaf filled the air around him. He knew that was strange because it was still leafbare. A feeling that he thought might be fear or more likely caution, kicked into his body.
He finally decided that since he hadn’t been attacked yet, and there was a small mouse nearby anyway, it was safe to open his eyes and find out where the heck he was. He was right about one thing. The ground had been grass and around him there were low branches. But the light wasn’t from the sun; it came from the stars all around. Some were closer than he had ever seen and decided that he was dreaming. He was not only dreaming, none of it was real at all.
It was soon that he realized that this wasn't going to be a good dream. Despite the strange surroundings Maskpaw realized that he was somewhere in ShadowClan territory. The moment he realized this was the moment that he knew exactly where he was. It was a small hallow that he had found one day while hunting near the old two-leg place. Then the acid smell of sticky blood reached his scent glands and his heart jumped as he spotted a cat nearby laying in the middle of the clearing covered in blood. He calmed himself quickly before slowly stalking over to it. Before he got the chance to even look closely at the cat Maskpaw knew it was himself.
However before the tom could react at all the scene shifted and he was now standing inside the camp having a face off with Wrenstar, Coalstep, Frostbite, and Sleepingpaw. But Sleepingpaw looked older and even he himself felt a little older. Though he never got a chance to look at himself because he soon realized that most of the clan was standing behind the four leading cats and they were continually coming closer to him. Fear clutched at his heart and mind and for once he had no super amazing plan to escape except to run.
Maskpaw looked behind him to see his options but he stopped in his tracks the moment he saw it. A giant black hole type thing. It wanted to swallow him up and Maskpaw knew it. There was no way out. There was nothing around that would help him escape. Nothing. He looked back at the clan with pleading eyes but they weren't stopping. So all he could do was back up. Soon he was right in front of the black hole thing and there was nothing left to do but wait. Trapped in between his two worst fears. Black emptiness and the Clan that he lived with his entire 8 moons of life. What to do.

Maskpaw gasped and opened his eyes. The air around him was suffocating him. He had to get out of this den! So he stood up and ran out of there as fast as he could. Once outside the den Maskpaw began to pant and wheeze with exhaustion and fear. He didn't care much for the other onlookers nearby.

"You need to calm down kid. No one is chasing after you." The white medicine cat mewed coming out of the bushes. She past the apprentice and then stopped. Looking back at the apprentice she stuided him carefully. Raising an eyebrow she mewed, "Would you like to join me or you just going to stand there frozen like a stick stuck in the ice..?" Frostbite didnt really like company when she was looking for herbs. Yet this apprentice seemed a bit.. out there. She waited on his answer and her tail flicked back and foreth.

``MASKPAW &&a scary mask[/b][/size]
"You need to calm down kid. No one is chasing after you."
The voice of his medicine caught him off guard and it took all of his will and strength to not jump in complete fear and shock. Maskpaw was a smart cat and if someone found him freak out when he was taken from behind he would NEVER hear the end of it.
Instead he closed his eyes and held his "freak out" inside. Then he turned to the medicine cat and sighed. It was a bit strange that Frostbite wanted him to come with her. He wasn't sure what Wrenstar had in mind for training today, but going out with Frostbite seemed like a nice change of pace.
He had been practicing way too much with his battle moves lately. Especially when he was deciding on newer ones.
He shrugged at her and followed. He didn't want to make it seem like he was "happy" or "excited" to go out with her, but he didn't want to seem rude either.
"What about Sleepingpaw? She driving you crazy so you just decided to leave her in camp?"
He hated his little sister. She was annoying and obnoxious with her sneaking around and watching him from the corner of her eyes. She could hardly let him out of her sight without him having to step out of camp. It was quite irritating.

Frostbite lead the way and didnt wait for the apprentice to catch up. It was really his decision if he wanted to come or not. She just offered. Just attempting to be nice.. She almost didnt hear the tom bring up her apprentice. She then remembered that Sleepingpaw was his sister. Rolling her eyes she was just about to banish him from walking with her the minute he started talking. not just about her apprentice but in general. "What I decide to do with Sleepingpaw is none of your concern unless you want to change places with me and you can be her mentor while I get trained by the leader. Sounds like a fair deal." she mewed not looking back at Maskpaw.
