1.) What is a role-play?: Well a role-play is simply an active story being written between two or more writers. They speak through their characters and narrate a plot. For Example:
Author 1: Articpaw padded through the opening to the Apprentice's den, he looked around curiously and saw Spindlepaw. "Hey Spindlepaw!" He called happily.
Author 2: Spindlepaw let a soft purr, her horrible day brightened up at seeing Articpaw. "Hey," she purred, "Want to play?"
Author 2: Spindlepaw let a soft purr, her horrible day brightened up at seeing Articpaw. "Hey," she purred, "Want to play?"
2.) What "person" are role-plays written in?: They can be written in any person but here on OL we only role-play in 3rdn person. The examples above in Question 1, is how we expect role-plays written.
3.) How do I post in a Gathering?: Here normal clan gatherings are held every other month, with the medicine cat gatherings falling in between. You'll have to keep up with the news and mass PMs to be up to date!
4.) Can anyone post in the Gathering?: Normally I ask Clan Leaders to choose about 5 cats (not including high positions). I ask them to pm me those characters and their role-players about 5 days before the gathering and I post an announcement about who can post. Everyone is urged to read it to keep up with current events but I ask only a few to post.
The Cats invited must wait till after their leader post to post, this creates less chaos.
5.) What are these high positions everyone is mentioning?:
The High Positions consist of the following:
- Leaders: Leaders have nine lives and lead their clan. They choose a deputy to help lead to potentially be their successor.
- Deputy: The "co- leader" of the clan. These cats have had an apprentice and assigned patrols and essentially do some of the brute work of organizing the clan.
- Medicine Cat: These cats communicate with StarClan and care for their clan medically. They use herbs to heal their clan and take an apprentice to teach them how to do their job.
- Medicine Cat Apprentice: These cats learn from the Medicine Cat about how to heal their clans.
6.) Can I be a staff member?:
First of all, don't ask me to be staff. If I think you're right for the job I'll let you know, and I will hold auditions when positions become available.
